Remembering Jo Cox’s Legacy

The 16th of June this year marks a year since the murder of British MP Jo Cox. The Great Get Together held from the 16th-18th of June this year will commemorate the legacy Jo left behind as a strong activist, dedicated mother, wife and hardworking MP who was killed whilst trying to serve her constituents.

Brendan Cox remembers his wife Jo as a woman who “believed in a better world and she fought for it every day of her life with an energy, and a zest for life that would exhaust most people. She would have wanted two things above all else to happen now, one that our precious children are bathed in love and two, that we all unite to fight against the hatred that killed her.”

As Jo said in her first speech in Parliament, “we are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us.”

So, this weekend, join in on the events hosted by The Great Get Together and let us unite together to remember the incredible legacy Jo left behind and how we can come together to continue working on the causes she fought so passionately for. Share Jo’s words and embody her spirit of unity this weekend.
